Munich: Bayern Munich have roped in Marc Roca from Espanyol, in what looked like a relatively quiet transfer window for the Bundesliga champions. They had been targetting him for a long time and more so after the departure of Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool.

The Spanish midfielder will wear the no.22 jersey and reportedly signed a five-year deal with the European winners. His fee is around 9m euros, plus variables, according to reports. His arrival will give Hansi Flick an alternative for Joshua Kimmich and provide for some depth in their midfield.

Bayern targetted Roca the previous year, but the deal did not go through due to the high demands of Espanyol, who are relegated this season. The relegation allowed Bayern to sign the young budding talent at a cut off price.

“We are very happy to have signed Marc Roca. In terms of football and character, he fits perfectly in our team and will continue to develop with us. We are sure that he will add a great value to our team,” Bayern Munich Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic said praising their new signing.
