KOLKATA:- Manchester City’s 32-match unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an abrupt end as Bournemouth secured a stunning 2-1 victory at home. The Cherries’ triumph marked their first-ever win over the Citizens.

Bournemouth started strong, with Semenyo opening the scoring in the ninth minute. Manchester City struggled to find their rhythm, with Haaland squandering a chance in the 38th minute. Phil Foden missed an excellent opportunity to level the match early in the second half.

The visitors eventually found their footing, but Bournemouth doubled their lead through Evanilson’s 64th-minute strike. City’s Verdiol narrowed the gap in the 82nd minute, sparking a frantic push for an equalizer.

Jeremy Doku’s 90th-minute shot was denied by the Bournemouth goalkeeper, who also thwarted Haaland’s attempt in added time. Manchester City’s pressure was insufficient to prevent their first defeat.

This loss dropped City to second place with 23 points from 10 matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool leapfrogged them to the top of the table with 25 points after their win over Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s team will look to rebound from this unexpected setback, while Bournemouth celebrates a historic victory.
