Goa: Bengaluru FC has made their mark in this year’s Indian Super League with a 4-2 win against Kerala Blasters FC on Sunday. For Bengaluru, it was Cleiton Silva, Eric Paartalu, Dimas Delgado and Sunil Chhetri while Rahul KP and Gray Murry found the net for Kerala.

It was an important match for both teams to kickstart their campaign. As the Blasters have been struggling with two points before the start of the match and Bengaluru with six points out of their four, not the start they wanted.

The first began with a promise as Kibu Vicuna’s side has been attacking more and asking questions to the Bengaluru defence. And in a swift counter-attack, Rahul scored the opener in the 17 minutes of the match. A cool and calm right legged finish.

Bengaluru was finding it difficult but came back from a Blasters defensive error Cleiton scored and equalised in the 29th minute of the match. And the first half remained 1-1.

The second half started with Bengaluru earning a penalty which Chhetri failed to convert. But it didn’t took more than five mins in the first half to get the lead. As Paartulu slotted his first of the season in the 51st minute. And a goal-fest begin.

Dimas scored in the 53rd minute of the match and took a 3-1 lead for Bengaluru. Blasters strike back in the 61st minute from a Murry goal and made the match more interesting.

But it took not more than two minutes for the captain, leader, legend to hit back. He redeemed from his penalty miss and scored in the 63rd minute of the match from a header and won the match for his side.

Bengaluru will be happy after this victory as they climbed to nine points after five matches and for the Blasters and Kibu things are getting darker now.
