Kolkata : Mumbai Batter Shreyas Iyer has reacted to rumours of him missing Ranji Trophy due to shoulder injury, after several news sites claiming it.
Iyer earlier quoted after scoring century against Maharashtra that his body needs rest.
He said, “No matter what people think outside, I have to listen to my body because I know the threshold I’ve carried over the last few years. Based on that, I’ll make the right decision, and I hope my team will back me”.
Several media including Cricbuzz sited sources from BCCI and Mumbai Cricket that Iyer won’t be travelling with Mumbai team and will miss the clash against Tripura.
A Cricket expert and social media user Muffadai Vohra stated that “Shreyas Iyer set to miss Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy game due to shoulder injury- Cricbuzz”.
Reacting to this Iyer wrote in social media lashing out, “Guys, seriously, let’s do some homework before publishing news,”
Vohra rectified and apologized if the news was inaccurate and he had no intentions in spreading it since the source of information was Cricbuzz.
There’s however, no official statement regarding Iyer’s participation or being ruled out in the clash against Tripura starting from November 26.
