Brisbane : Australia dominated India in Day 3 of Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at The Gabba, Brisbane, owing to respective tons of Travis Head and Steve Smith.
Australia started the day with 28-0. Jasprit Bumrah (5/72) quickly removed both openers Usman Khawaja (21) & Nathan McSweeney (9) in consecutive overs. Marnus Labuschagne (12) too followed them after brief partnership of 37 runs with Steve Smith for 75.
The duo of Steve Smith (101) & Travis Head (152) hammered Indian bowlers, forming mammoth 152 runs partnership.
Bumrah yet again removed them along with Mitchell Marsh (5), completing his 5-fer.
A 58 runs partnership between Alex Carey (45*) & skipper Pat Cummins (20) rubbed salt in the wounds of India.
Australia ended the day with 405-7.
