Several players named as replacements at Bengal T20 Challenge

Kolkata: Three of the six teams in the Bengal T20 Challenge have called in replacement in their squad after players have been forced out after testing positive for COVID-19 and on other medical grounds.

For Mohun Bagan Writtick Chatterjee has been forced out after testing COVID-19 positive, while Rajkumar Pal was forced out due to father’s illness. Sunil Kr Dalal and Sourav Paul have been incorporated in the 15-member squad as their replacement.

East Bengal have likewise lost Abhimanyu Easwaran and Abhishek Raman after the duo tested positive. Abhijit Bhagat and Ranjot Singh Khaira have come in as their replacement. East Bengal have three changes in their stand by team with Sachin Kr Yadav, Rohan Banerjee and Shiv Patel coming in after two players from standby moved to main squad and Rahul Shetty left on personal grounds.

Customs have replaced Dip Chatterjee, who also tested positive with Saikat Banerjee. Earlier on November 20, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) underwent a total of 142 persons coronavirus test, one day prior to checking into the hotel for COVID-19 and four have tested positive for the deadly virus. The inaugural edition of the Bengal T20 Challenge to be played at Eden Gardens from November 24.
