BAN vs SA, 1st Test : South Africa dominate Bangladesh to record first Test victory in Asia after 10 years

Dhaka : South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets at Shere Bangla Stadium, Dhaka to lead 1-0 in 2 match Test Series. This was their 1st Test win in Asian Soil after 10 years.

In 1st innings, South African bowlers – Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Wiaan Mulder picked 3-fer each to rattle Bangladesh on 106 runs.

Coming to Bat, South Africa faced challenges from spinner Taijul Islam, picking 5-fer and Hasan Mahmud with 3-fer.

The Proteas struggled with 108-6 when Kyle Verrenynne (114) & Mulder (54), followed by Dane Piedt (32) cameo took them to 308 runs.

In reply, Bangladesh gave a great fight back especially with knocks of Mehidy Hasan Miraz (97) , Jaker Ali (58).

South African pace battery Kagiso Rabada demolish the Bangladesh Batting order with fiery spell of 6/46, rattling the hosts on 307 runs, with a lead of just 105 runs lead.

South Africa easily chased down the total with help of Tony de Zorzi (41) & Tristan Stubbs (30*), despite losing 3 wickets to Taijul.

Kyle Verreynne was adjourned the Man of The Match for his heroics.

Both teams will clash against each other in Final Test at Chattagram from October 29, 2024.
