Saudi Super Cup 2024: Al-Hilal beats Al-Ittihad 4-1 to lift title

Abu Dhabi: Brace from Brazilian forward Malcom paves Al-Hilal to claim the Saudi Super Cup title beating 4-1 to Al-Ittihad in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. Portuguese manger Jorge Jesus’ Al-Hilal is bidding for a quadruple of trophies this season, as they remain alive in the King’s Cup and Asian Champions league as well.

Malcom provided Al-Hilal the early lead in the 5th minute with a one-two with Saleh Al-Shehri. However, the equalised came from Al-Ittihad’s Abderrazak Hamdallah who struck in the 21st minute from the rebound from his penalty, after it was saved by Al-Hilal’s Yassine Bounou. Al-Hilal had the lead again in the 44th minute with Salem Al-Dawsari striking from the edge of the area.

Malcom scored his second after dribbling past Al-Ittihad captain’s Ahmed Hegazy. In the 96th minute substitute Nasser Al-Dawsari‮ ‬got a close call to make it 4-1. Al-Ittihad will have the opportunity to reply back to Al Hilal as they face each other in King’s Cup semi-final on April 30.
