New Delhi : On Tuesday afternoon, the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed that both the teams from Manipur, TRAU FC & NEROCA FC have been relegated after they have finished bottom in the I-League season 2023-24.
Despite several appeals from both the Manipur Clubs and by Biren Singh, the honourable Chief Minister of Manipur not to relegated the teams due to ongoing riots and conflict in the state since May, 2023. But AIFF ignored the appeal and rigid to their decision of confirming the relegation for the 2023-24 season.
“The All India Football Federation has decided to impose relegation in the I-League 2023-24 as per the rules and regulations,” the AIFF stated in a press release.
“In the 13-team competition, NEROCA FC finished with 14 points and TRAU FC with 13 points, placing them at the bottom of the table and resulting in their relegation,” stated the AIFF general in a press release.
