You will always be my captain: Virat Kohli to Mahendra Singh Dhoni

New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli share a very close bonding. After the former retired from international cricket, the current India skipper shared a minute-long video on BCCI’s Twitter handle thanking the former captain.     

“You will always be my captain,” said Virat to Dhoni expressing gratitude for the ‘Friendship and mutual respect’. He also added, “Words fall short a lot of times in life and I think this is one of those moments. All I can say is that you will always be that guy who sat in the last seat of the bus. We have shared a great camaraderie, friendship, understanding because we have always played for the same roles, same goals, which was to make India win.” 

“It’s been a pleasure playing under you, alongside you. You showed belief in me, which I would always be grateful for. I have said it before, I will say it again, you will always be my captain,” Kohli added. He also shared a video on his official Instagram page and said, “Thank you for these moments skip.”

Dhoni announced his retirement on August 15 (Saturday). However, the 39-year-old will continue to play for the Indian Premier League (IPL) which is scheduled to start in the UAE from September 19.
