Dubai: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was not a part of his team’s Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday (November 8) due to a hamstring injury. However, this puts the Bengal stumper in doubt for the tour Down Under.

“We have no changes, Wriddhiman Saha has a hamstring tear,” confirmed SRH captain David Warner at the toss. Saha has played four matches in this 13th edition of IPL and scored 214 runs at a strike-rate of 139.86. He also has listed two fifties to his name.

With the forthcoming Australia Test series in December, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will observe Saha’s conditions closely in case, if SRH reach the IPL finals whether Saha will play or not.

The schedule for India’s tour to Australia was confirmed and declared in October. The ODIs will start on November 27 followed by matches on November 29 and December 2. The T20Is will be held on December 4, 6 and 8 followed by the first of the four-Test matches in Adelaide from December 17.

Saha had a rough career thus far as he went through a lot of injuries. He raised on the big phase until a hamstring injury ruled him out of the second Test in South Africa in January 2018. A few more wounds followed, which pushed him out of action for more than a year.
