Rome: Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo suffered an ankle injury during their 1-1 draw with Lazio in Serie A on Sunday (November 8). Ronaldo missed the last 15 minutes of the game, after picking up a knock with Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto.

Ronaldo gave his team the much-needed lead on 15 minutes in Stadio Olimpico. Although Lazio equalised during the added time, Juventus couldn’t capitalise quite a few chances they got during the match.

This was Juventus’ last game before the international break. They are now three points behind AC Milan, who still have a match before the break against Hellas Verona in San Siro. Pirlo told the media, “Ronaldo is a key player not only for us but for all the teams he has played for. Unfortunately, he had an ankle problem and was forced to leave the field.”

Although, he is due to join Portugal for games against Andorra, France and Croatia during the international break. The severity of the injury will determine whether he would play or he is about to miss the matches.
