Mumbai: December 13 is indeed one of the most remarkable days in Rohit Sharma’s life as he has numerous reasons to enjoy the occasion. The India opener Rohit and wife Ritika Sajdeh celebrated their fifth marriage anniversary on Sunday (December 13).

Firstly, his anniversary and secondly, in 2017 a ferocious double ton against Sri Lanka in Chandigarh. With this, Rohit became the first player to have as many as three ODI scores in excess of 200. Notably, no other player has even two double tons in ODIs. As Rohit’s tornado knock completed three years, social media got poured with congratulatory messages.

“#OnThisDay in 2017: Sharmaji ka beta aced a test which would be out-of-syllabus for most people – a 3rd 200 in ODIs for Rohit ‘Hitman’ Sharma,” the a channel tweeted while sharing Rohit’s celebration picture on that day. Reacting to the post, the 33-year-old commented “More to come” alongside a smile emoji.

He shared five pictures with his wife, and wrote a beautiful note. “5 yrs of affection and we plan to stay not out till the end @ritssajdeh,” Rohit wrote on Instagram. Ritika also took to Instagram to mark her fifth wedding anniversary. Like her husband, she also shared five pictures with a beautiful caption which read, “Happy 5 my love @rohitsharma45 I call dibs on you for all our future lifetimes”.

Mumbai Indians, who have won five IPL titles under Rohit’s leadership since 2013, posted a couple of tweets to wish their skipper on their wedding anniversary. “13th Dec 2015, the start of Hitman’s best partnership. Lots of love to Rohit & Ritika on their wedding anniversary,” read one of Mumbai Indians’ tweet.

The franchise also posted a video of the couple and their daughter Samaira from their times spent together during this year’s IPL in UAE. “To more such sweet moments #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians @ImRo45,” Mumbai Indians captioned the video.

Rohit, after leading Mumbai Indians to a winning season in 13th edition of IPL, missed ODIs and T20Is in Australia, as he had suffered a hamstring injury during the IPL 2020. Due to that soon after the IPL, he travelled to Bengaluru to begin his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

However, on Friday (December 11) he cleared an eagerly-watched fitness test at the NCA and will leave for Australia on December 14, three days before the start of the marquee Test series against the world’s no.1 team. Rohit will not be a part of the first two Tests but can now be a part of the last two games.
