Manchester: Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to have played his last Champions League this season, as Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champion League spot after being handed a 4-0 loss by Brighton and Hove Albion.

Although, Cristiano Ronaldo had always faced a huge competition from Lionel Messi in achieving the title of the World’s Greatest Footballer, it is wrong to admit that Champions League has always been Cristiano Ronaldo’s greatest stage with the talisman having as many as five Champions League trophy.

From his 2008 Moscow Champions League Final master class for Manchester United to his Puskas winning goal vs Porto. From his hat-trick against Bayern Munich in 2016 to his famous Bi-cycle kick against Juventus. Definitely, not forgetting his hat-trick against Atletico Madrid in Juventus shirt. Cristiano Ronaldo scored 17 goals a season to set up a new record that hasn’t been broken yet. Ronaldo’s tally of 140 goals and 48 assists in 180 Champions League games will be a record long to be broken if at all. Despite, Manchester United having a disaster Champions League campaign being ousted by RB Leipzig,  Ronaldo managed to bag four goals.

However, with Manchester United being out of the Champions League the upcoming season will be the first time in last 20 years that Cristiano Ronaldo will not make it to the greatest European stage since his first appearance on August 14 2022 Sporting de Portugal and Inter Milan. However, things might change if Cristiano Ronaldo makes a move away from the Old Trafford which again seems highly unlikely as per former interim manager Ralf Rangnick and the reports in England.

With Cristiano Ronaldo turning 38 in the upcoming February, the thought of Cristiano Ronaldo retiring from the game post FIFA 2022 World Cup has been haunting the fans with thought of Cristiano Ronaldo likely to have played his last Champions League campaign has been lingering around.
