New Delhi: Unnati Hooda became the youngest Indian badminton player to be part of the Asian Games squad in 2022 following the announcement of the strong contingents to participate in the upcoming Thomas and Uber Cup, Commonwealth Games, and Asian Games by the Badminton Association of India on Thursday.
The 14-year-old Rohtak teen star qualified for both the Asian Games and the Uber Cup after coming third in the women’s singles at trials, behind Kashyap and Ashmita Chaliha, who took first and second place.
PV Sindhu, Kashyap, Chaliha, Hooda, and Top-3 doubles teams Treesa Jolly-Gayatri P, N Sikki Reddy-Ashwini Ponappa, and Tanisha Crasto-Shruti Mishra will make up a 10-member women’s squad for the Asian Games and Uber Cup.
