Dubai: New Zealand revived their campaign in the ICC World T20 sealing an 8 wicket victory over India in Super 12, Group 1 in Dubai on Sunday.

The Kiwi bowlers bowled superbly restricting India to a mere 110/7 before chasing it down in the 15th over while India suffered their second defeat of the campaign.

India, after being asked to bat was unable to put up any resilience against a formidable Blackcaps bowling unit collapsing horribly. Ishan Kishan who was brought into the side for Suryakumar Yadav failed to make the most of his opportunity even after getting his chance to open the innings.

Skipper Virat Kohli who was the star in the last game saw a single-digit against his name. Rohit Sharma too fell going for a big hit. Hardik Pandya(26) despite being the top scorer, had a hard time finding the rhythm. Had Ravindra Jadeja(23*) not added crucial runs at death, India would not have even crossed the 100 run mark. For Kiwis, Trent Boult(3/20) topped the charts alongside Ish Sodhi(2/17) although all of their bowlers were right on the money.

In Reply, New Zealand reached the target in 14.3 riding on Daryl Mitchell’s 35 balls 49 while Kane Williamson(33*) also got runs his belt which would give the Blackcaps skipper a boost for the upcoming matches.

Brief Scores: New Zealand 111/2 in 14.3 overs( Daryl Mitchell 49, Kane Williamson 33*; Jasprit Bumrah 2/19) beat India 110/7(Hardik Pandya 26, Ravindra Jadeja 23*; Trent Boult 3/20, Ish Sodhi 2/17) by 8 wickets.
