Srinagar: Former India batsman Suresh Raina has pulled out of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 due to personal reasons. After withdrawing from the cash-rich from this year’s IPL, Raina has taken huge progress in preparing the potential cricketers from Jammu & Kashmir. He also planned to open five academies in the region.

Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 along with former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He was part of CSK’s squad that won the IPL title in 2010, 2011, and 2018 and part of India’s team that lifted the 2011 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Raina met with the J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and structured academies each in Jammu and Kashmir division to train the youngsters of certain remote areas. “With sports and education, we shall give a new direction to the talented youth of J&K,” Sinha was quoted as saying to News18.
I appreciate his gesture. With sports and education, we shall give a new direction to the talented youth of J&K.

The left-handed middle-order batsman pointed out that skillful players would get recognized and hand-picked from across Jammu & Kashmir, who would be trained by professionals to compete at the international level. Sinha selects a new direction for the talented youth of the Union Territory.
