Bangkok: A historic victory for Gokulam Kerala FC in the AFC Women’s Club Championship as they beat Bangkok FC 4-3.
After falling behind each time, Gokulam took the lead through continuous attacks.
The score was 2-1 in favor of the Bangkok team in the first half, but a hat-trick scored by Veronica Appiah, a foreign star of Gokulam Kerala, gave the team a brilliant victory.
This is the best result for Gokulam who competed in the AFC Women’s Club Championship earlier.
Gokulam finished 2nd in the table with 4 teams, Urava Red (Japan) who won first place was the only team that entered the next stage and Gokulam lost only to Urava Red in the league.
Iranian Hajar Dabaghi scored the goal in the first half for Gokulam, and Gokulam advanced in team spirit in the first end and got the victory.
Gokulam Kerala FC is the only Indian team to have participated in the AFC Men’s and Women’s categories
