Ross Taylor reveals being slapped by Rajasthan Royals owner in IPL 2011

Kolkata : Former New Zealand star Ross Taylor made some shocking revelations, sparking controversy regarding India’s biggest T20 Carnival – Indian Premier League ( IPL) .

Taylor in his autobiography “Black and White” , released earlier this month , recalled an incident in the dugout of Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2011.

Taylor in his Book revealed how he was slapped by a franchise stuff after dismissed on a duck in a match against Punjab Kings(then Kings Xi Punjab), in a vital run chase. Later, to soften the heat of this remarks, he said the “slaps were not hard”.

Taylor quoted in his autobiography :

“Rajasthan played Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. The chase was 195, I was lbw for a duck and we didn’t get close.

Afterwards, the team, support staff and management were in the bar on the top floor of the hotel. Liz Hurley was there with Warnie. One of the Royals owners said to me, “Ross, we didn’t pay you a million dollars to get a duck’ and slapped me across the face three or four times. ”

He further said, ” He was laughing and they weren’t hard slaps but I’m not sure that it was entirely play-acting. Under the circumstances I wasn’t going to make an issue of it, but I couldn’t imaging it happening in many professional sporting environments.”

The New Zealand Batsman began his IPL Career with RCB from 2008-2010, before joining Rajasthan Royals.

Earlier this month, he also revealed revelations regarding racism that he faced during his playing days in New Zealand by the players and team stuffs.
