Goa: Coming up from the ranks of FC Goa B, Savior Gama has become a man to trust and believe for head coach Juan Ferrando. In the last match against Kerala Blasters, he has assisted Igor Angulo and certainly has become a player to watch out for.

Born in Goa, Gama came up from the Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim in Taca Goa U-20. In the 2017-18 season, he played for FC Goa’s developmental squad and played in the local Goan matches, which includes the AWES tournament.

In the pre-match press conference against Odisha FC, 23-year-old Gama was confident about his performance in the matches he has featured to date.

When he was asked about FC Goa’s change in tactics from the last season when he played under Sergio Lobera, Gama said, “The coach has been working pretty hard. We have been practicing differently and also in high intensity and that’s the change.”

Saviour made his debut for FC Goa in the 2018-19 season and has seen a different sort of FC Goa side. That FC Goa had players who were already ready to fire under Lobera. This season the team started poorly by not winning a single game in their first three matches.

Asked about the mood in the dressing after their loss in the first three matches and after winning, Gama said,  “The players were eager to win matches after the first three. We know that we are the best within so we have to win and happily, we did it on our fourth match.”
