Kolkata : Mohun Bagan Super Giants will kick start their Durand Cup 2025 campaign facing Mohammedan SC, another Bengal giant on July 31, 2025. The Mariners last won Durand Cup title in 2023 defeating arch rivals East Bengal in final. They’re also runners up last year where they lost to North East United FC in penalty shootout.
Mohun Bagan are most successful club in Durand Cup history with 17 titles to their name. They’re placed in Group B in Durand Cup 2025 along with Mohammedan SC, Diamond Harbour FC, BSF FT. Their arch rival East Bengal are not in the group notably. The Mariners will come into Durand Cup with full confidence, after winning ISL 2024-25 league shield and cup convincingly.
It’s sad for the Bengal fans that they can’t witness mega Bengal derby this season unless both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan qualify for knock outs. However, a mini Bengal derby between Mohun Bagan Super Giants and Mohammedan SC can be witness to delight of fans on July 31 at Kishore Bharati, Kriangan at 4 pm.
Mohun Bagan will play their 2nd match at Yuva Bharati Kriangan on August 4 at 7 pm, against Border Security Force. They’ll end their group campaign playing against I-League 2 2025 champion Diamond Harbour FC on August 9 at Kishore Bharati at 7 pm.
