Manchester: A goalless draw against Real Sociedad at Old Trafford helped Manchester United progress to the UEFA Europa League last 16 on Thursday (February 25). The Red Devils went to the next round following their 4-0 lead in the 1st leg.

The Spanish side had the earliest chance in the first half to get a goal back but Mikel Oyarzabal struck his penalty high and wide after he was taken down by Daniel James in the box. United saw much of the ball looking very positive going forward. Bruno Fernandes hit the bar with a superb effort that deserved a goal for sure.

However, in the second-half Shola Shoretire came off the bench to become the youngest-ever Manchester United player in a European game (17 years and 23 days) while summer signing Amad Diallo also made his home debut coming as a substitute.

Real Sociedad were unable to make things happen while the Red Devils got a few chances in the latter half of the game with Anthony Martial coming close on an occasion.
