Manchester: Manchester United are reportedly eyeing for four Barcelona products this summer with Ousmane Dembele, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti all on their wishlist. The La Liga giants are likely to have a major overhaul after they were humiliated 8-2 at the hands of Bayern Munich in Champions League quarters.
According to Mundo Deportivo, United are keen to bring all of them to Old Trafford and have already made contact with Barcelona specifically over Dembele and Umtiti’s availability. The EPL club have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho earlier in the year but the deal couldn’t materialise.
Dembele would be a perfect replacement for Sancho. The Frenchman hasn’t had a good time in Spain as his stay has been mostly of injuries with very less game-time. Although Umtiti has been a regular in Barcelona but has been plagued by persistent knee problems over the course of the last two seasons and now faces an uncertain future.
Rakitic denied United back in January but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to revive his interest in him, while Vidal only has one year left on his deal and is likely to depart for a reasonable fee. United boss Solskjaer is looking big this summer and has asked the club to splash big with an ambition to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City next season.
Despite a resurgence in form since football returned back in June, United showed improvements are still needed as they squandered their last opportunity to finish the season with silverware by losing to Sevilla in the Europa League semifinals.
