Manchester City to face Chelsea in the final of Champions League for their maiden title

Porto : It is the time for ultimate showdown as the Blues from Manchester and Blues from London are about to go head to head to clinch the title that matters the most. Manchester City is scheduled to meet Chelsea in Porto for UEFA Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola is no stranger to the occasion having own two UCL final with his former team FC Barcelona in 2009 and 2011. Thomas Tuchel on the other hand guided Paris Saint Germain to the final previous year but fell short to the Bavarians.

This is City’s first ever Champions League final, and Chelsea will look forward to add their second UCL trophy to their cabinet. The nerves will be their for both the teams as they will seek the ultimate price.

The dominance of City is Premier League is undeniable, adding their fifth Premier League title to the cabinet and the EFL trophy. Guardiola has nothing but the worry for Champions League final which came after four times as his men broke the quarter final curse and sailed off to Porto.

Chelsea on the other hand, barely managed to secure the 4th position in the league table as Leicester City failed to win against Tottenham allowing Tuchel’s men to somehow hold on to the UCL confirmation spot for next season, irrespective of the final’s result. FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City and losing the derby to Arsenal made things worse for the London side and even more hungrier for the final win, which is their only chance to add a silverware this season.

Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko; Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Foden.

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Rudiger; James, Kovacic, Kante, Chilwell; Mount, Werner; Havertz.

Head To Head

The UEFA Champions League final will mark the 169th meeting between the two sides, the Citizen’s 59 win is triumphed by 70 wins by the Blues. The latest meeting between the two saw Sergio Aguero miss a penalty in Etihad hence his team’s downfall at the Etihad Stadium for the FA Cup semi-final.
