Liverpool: High from a 3-0 win in their opener against Norwich City last weekend, Liverpool would like to make it two in two when they face Burney on Saturday at Anfield in the Premier League. The match is exactly seven months since Burnley’s memorable 1-0 win ended Liverpool’s 68-game unbeaten home run.

The return of star defender Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson has boosted Liverpool’s morale and look a more confident side. Youngster Curtis Jones, who missed on a bus to Carrow Road because of a concussion is available for selection once again.

Head coach Jurgen Klopp would be more flexible in choosing his options against Burney with Henderson and Spanish international Thiago in the mix. Scottish international Andrew Robertson, who injured his ankle in pre-season, is unlikely to feature in the starting XI on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the good news for the Reds fans is that Klopp has confirmed talks are on to keep Mo Salah at the club for few more years. Klopp said: “I am involved in pretty much everything in the club. Mo is obviously in a really, really good moment football-wise, mood-wise.

“How he behaves from the first day he came back has been absolutely great. So we’re all adults, we’re all professionals. There are talks and there are more talks and when there is a final decision, we will tell you. Until then, it is only important how the parties work together in these things.”

On the other hand, defending champions Manchester City will be trying to rub off their previous game memories, with a win against Norwich City at home on the same day. City were handed a shock defeat to Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tottenham Hotspur, thanks to a Son Hueng-Min solitary goal.

With Sergio Aguero’s departure and Kevin De Brunye still not fit to play, City are missing the flair factor as they are failing to create and finish chances. Although the addition of Jack Grealish seemed like a good thing, the former Aston Villa forward is yet to impress.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa will take on Newcastle United while Crystal Palace face Brentford. At Elland Road, Leeds United will host Everton who made a huge 3-1 comeback last week against Southampton. Brighton will also be playing Watford at Falmer Stadium.
