Manchester: Manchester City officially lifted the seventh Premier League trophy for the seventh time on Sunday (May 23) in Manchester after routing Everton 5-0 at the  Etihad Stadium . Sergio Aguero bid the perfect farewell to his domestic career for club striking twice coming off the bench. He also surpassed Wayne Rooney for scoring the most goals in the league for a single club with 184. Pep Guadiola’s men hit the front through Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus giving the champions an early lead in the first half with Phil Foden extending it in 53rd minute.

Aguero though joined party replacing Riyad Mahrez. The Argentine first got to the end of delivery by Fernandinho slotting it past Everton custodian Jordan Pickford before heading it home another short after that to seal a memorable victory. De Bruyne registered 12 assists this season while Iker Gundogan surprisingly was the top scorer for them with 13 strikes in the opposing net. Aguero still have one game in his hand which is big final of the Champions League.

Pep’s main concern will be to find another designated no.9 for his side. Other than that, his squad depth is pretty one of the best in Europe. The Spaniard’s love for a false nine was evident in this season too with Gundogan and Bernardo Silva being the men for that role while he absolutely made the most of Joao Cancelo. The Portuguese operated both the sides in the full-back role with being occasional presence in the middle of the park. However, the highlight of this season for them is the emergence of the Phil Foden. The young Englishmen had his breakout season performing beyond his age showing great maturity and will be a firm contender for the FIFA Golden Boy Award.
