BCCI pledges to donate 2000 Oxygen concentrators for India’s COVID-19 battle

Mumbai: The entire country is currently battling the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the increasing demand for medicines and other medical equipment including oxygen concentrators in India, which is still staggering because of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday (May 24) has extended a helping hand for India’s Covid-19 battle. As they announced that they will contribute to the nation’s fight against the raging Covid-19 second wave by donating 10-Litre of Oxygen Concentrators. With the increasing demand for medicines and other equipment including oxygen concentrators in India, which is still staggering under the assault of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

“BCCI to contribute 10-Litre 2000 Oxygen concentrators to boost India’s efforts in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.” BCCI wrote on their twitter handle.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also lauded the important role played by all the medical and healthcare community in the pandemic behalf of the board. “The BCCI acknowledges the role medical and healthcare community has played and continues to play as we fight this battle against the deadly virus. They have truly been frontline warriors and have done whatever possible for them to shield us. The Board has always put health and safety at the top of their priority and continue to remains committed to the same. The oxygen concentrators will provide immediate relief to those who all are affected and will help in their speedy recovery,” Ganguly said in the official press release.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah also acknowledged that BCCI stood “shoulder to shoulder” in the long fight against the coronavirus. “We stand shoulder to shoulder in this long fight against the virus. The BCCI understands the desperate need for medical equipment in this crisis and hopes this effort will help in narrowing the demand of Oxygen gap that the country is going through. We have all gone through a lot but I am confident that we can stay ahead of the curve now that the vaccination drive is underway. I urge everyone eligible to get vaccinated.”
