Paris : The Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi rivalry is one of the most entertaining part of football and it has been this way since over a decade now. Although, the scenes of mutual respect outside the field has always been a sight to behold and also exemplary.
The 34 year old Argentine praised his rival, saying his has “adapted” admirably since the latter’s move back to Manchester United. Messi told the media,”Cristiano already knew the club but that was at a different stage and now he has adapted in an impressive manner.”
Ronaldo, left Juventus during the same transfer window as Messi in 2021. Messi was forced out of FC Barcelona to join Paris Saint Germain after 21 years, while Ronaldo left the Old Lady to join United.
The six times Ballon d’Or winner also spoke in a appreciative tone about the instant impact Ronaldo had since his move to the Premier League. He added,””From the start, he has scored goals as he always does and had no problems adapting.”
The Argentine and the Portuguese played in the same league from 2009 to 2018. Their rivalry has been the talk since then and it continues till now although both of them play in different league. Messi considers their rivalry will go down as “beautiful memory”.
Talking about the same he replied, “Time has passed since we competed in the same league. We not only competed on an individual level but also on a team level for the same aims.It was a very beautiful stage for us and for people because they enjoyed it very much. It’s a beautiful memory that will remain in football history.”
