Lionel Messi expresses desire for Barcelona return

Paris: Argentina Talisman Lionel Messi revealed his desire to return to his club of boyhood Barcelona after hanging his boots as a player in a different role.

“Yes, I always said that I would like to come back to help the club in whatever way,” Messi told Sport.

Messi made a shocking move away from the club of his life to French giants Paris Saint-Germain after almost signing the renewal with the Spanish club with a 50 percent wage cut, owing to the financial problems of the club and Financial Fair Play rules of La Liga.

Messi’s return has been anticipated by the fans ever since and more after his former teammate Andres Iniesta expressed his desire to return to Camp Nou and the ongoing talks of Xavi Hernandez coming in as a coach. Adding a dash of happiness to the lives of the fans who have been utterly devastated with the move and the dire state of the club, Messi admitted to being intrigued in returning to help the club even after hanging his boots, in an altogether different role as a ‘technical secretary’

“I want to be useful and help so that the club is doing well. I would love to be a technical secretary, but I don’t know if it will be in Barcelona”

“I would like to return to the club to contribute what I can because I love [Barcelona] and I would love them to keep doing well, to continue growing, and to continue to be among the best in the world.” said the PSG forward.

Thinking about it, let’s paint a scenario with Gerard Pique being the President of the club, Messi as the technical director with Iniesta assisting Xavi as a sous-coach, would not it be a dream come true for all the Blaugrana Fans?
