Barcelona : FC Barcelona reached 10 games in a row without a loss in La Liga defeating  Athletic Bilbao 2-1 at Camp Nou finished the month of January on a high note . Barça dominated the first half, conceded an unlucky owl goal early in the second but continued to attack the opposition until Antoine Griezmann scored the winner and gave the Blaugrana three very crucial points as they’ll finish the weekend with equal points in second place with Real Madrid.

Barça were undoubtedly the better team from the beginning, as they matched Athletic’s physicality and intensity and gave them no chance to play. The Ronald Koeman’s men maintained majority of possession and pressed high to recover the ball whenever they lost it.

Messsi opened the scoring with a free-kick at the edge of the box and placed a pearl of a curling shot into the top corner on 20 minutes. Athletic could not harm Barça’s defense, and chased the game throughout the first half. At halftime, Barça had a narrow lead but were also clearly the better team.

The second half started in a bad note for Barça as Jordi Alba scored an own goal after a cross from Raúl García on 49 minutes. Barça reacted well after conceding and continued to attack,  Griezmann and Ousmane Dembélé created threat with their movement and Messi was still just as aggressive as he was through out the match.

Óscar Mingueza made a great run after receiving an excellent pass from Dembélé and gave Griezmann a tap-in inside the six-yard box, and the Frenchman did not fumble and put ahead with 15 minutes to go. The win ensured a second spot in the league Table.
