Barcelona: Barcelona ended their five-game winless streak against Atletico Madrid with a 4-2 thrashing in La Liga on Sunday at Camp Nou. On the other hand, leaders Real Madrid edged past Granada with a 1-0 win on Monday.

Barcelona did not get off to the start they would have liked, as Atletico took the lead on eight minutes through a strike of Yannick Carrasco, who finished off a pass from former Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez.

Jordi Alba scored a screamer and equalized two minutes. He scored a volley from Dani Alves’ cross. Adama Traore, who made his second Barcelona debut burst past Atletico’s defense and set up Gavi, who put Barça ahead on 21 minutes.

Barcelona walked into time with a comfortable two-goal lead. Araujo scored the third goal on 43 minutes when he headed home a corner delivered by Ferran Torres. After the game restarted, Alves scored the fourth goal for Barcelona.

Luis Suarez pulled one back for his team as the former Barcelona man refused to celebrate the gin front forefront of the Camp Nou crowd. Alves was asked to leave the pitch as he was shown the red card after a challenge on Carrasco.

Barcelona played the rest of the match with 10 men and yet did not concede any further goals. Elsewhere, Real Madrid somehow edged past Granada with the lone goal being scored by Marco Asensio.
