Kochi: Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters FC have announced that 7 young prodigies have been promoted from the reserves to the first team squad and they will be joining the pre-season training in Goa.
Muheet Shabir, Gotimayum Muktasana, Ayush Adhikari, Nongdamba Naorem, Shaiborlang Kharpan, Kenstar Kharshong and Naorem Mahesh will now have the opportunity to prove their potential at the highest level.
The 19 year old Ayush Adhikari, who was on loan to the I-League side Indian Arrows made 13 appearances for the side throughout the 2019-20 season showing his talent with his attacking prowess with a standout performance being in an 1-0 win against East Bengal. Meanwhile, Nongdamba Naorem, a winger known for his quick feet and dribbling on the go ability had a good season with I-League 2019-20 winning side Mohun Bagan scoring 2 goals and registering 5 assists.
Shaiborlang Kharpan, Gotimayum Muktasana and Muheet Shabir were with the reserve squad over the past few years with Naorem Mahesh and Kenstar Kharshong moving to the side on loan last season from I-League side Shillong Lajong FC. Thanks to their performance last season, these two have signed permanently and joined the reserves squad.
