Jamshedpur: Odisha FC scored two late goals to seal a 3-2 win over defending Indian Super League (ISL) league winners Jamshedpur FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. Within the first ten minutes of the game, goals from Daniel Chukwu and Boris Singh gave the home team a two-goal advantage. After that, Diego Mauricio scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and Juggernauts substitute Isaac Chhakchhuak also scored to give the team all three points.

Even though torrential rain delayed kickoff, Jamshedpur FC didn’t let that get them down as they took the lead after just three minutes. Thoiba Singh successfully blocked Ricky Lallawmawma’s low cross from the left wing, but Daniel Chukwu was there to claim the rebound and score with his left foot.

The Red Miners grabbed a two-goal lead in the tenth minute. Lallawmawma once more played a low cross from the left flank. This time, Boris Singh was able to catch it and touch it in from the far post.

Seven minutes later, the Juggernauts cut the deficit in half. Near the edge of the box, Raynier Fernandes sent the ball to Diego Mauricio. Before curling and tucking his effort inside the far post, the Brazilian was afforded too much room.

Farukh Choudhary ran down the left side, and Wellington Priori received his cross. Amrinder Singh did a great job of blocking the Brazilian’s shot. A few minutes later, at the other end, Jerry Mawihmingthanga dribbled from the right wing into the box, seized the ball with his left foot, and came within millimetres of curling it into the top-left corner.

Pedro Martin and TP Rehenesh faced off against each other in the 67th minute as the JFC defence looked for an offside flag. The Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper made a superb save on the Spanish substitute’s strike.

With two minutes left in regulation, the score remained knotted. Isak Vanlalruatfela and Isaac Chhakchhuak, two substitutes for Odisha FC, worked incredibly well together on the right wing. Chhakchhuak slammed the ball into the goal after Vanlalruatfela pulled it back for him.

In stoppage time of the second half, the comeback was finished. Again, Vanlalruatfela played a part in the move as the 21-year-inch-perfect old’s pass found Mauricio, who then scored the game-winning goal for Odisha FC with his second goal of the game.
