Guwahati: Kerala Blasters is back on track after a 3-0 victory against NorthEast United in Indian Super League. Dimitrios Diamantakos (‘56) and Sahal Samad (‘86, ‘90+6) got their names on scoresheet at the Indira Athletic Stadium.

The game had a slow start with both the teams playing it safe. Cancelling each other in the midfield made it a struggle to crave out chances.

In the eighth minute, NorthEast United FC’s Romain Philippoteaux struck the woodwork from a distance after making a brief run from midfield. Kerala Blasters’ Diamantakos gained some space in behind but missed his target. The first half resulted in a score of 0-0, therefore neither of the goalkeepers had to make any saves.

The second half began with both the coaches not making any adjustments, although the two teams displayed more directness by attempting a few shots. Kerala Blasters’ strategy was successful in the 56th minute. Rahul KP successfully manoeuvred Saurav Mandal through, and Mandal’s shot was greeted by Diamantakos, who completed a fantastic team move.

Sahal Samad completed a quick counterattack a few minutes later to give Kerala Blasters a 2-0 lead. Six minutes into the second half’s extra time, the substitute scored again to earn his team a 3-0 triumph.
