Adelaide : The 2010 champions England knocked out 2007 champions India out of the T20 WC , crushing them by 10 wickets at Adelaide. English opening pair Alex Hales and Jos Buttler scored destructive knocks to book tickets for the finals on Sunday.

Chasing a above par total of 169 in 20 overs, English opening pair of skipper Jos Buttler and Alex Hales started hard hitting from the very first ball, the Indian bowlers like Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel and Ravi Ashwin all did not stand a chance against this destructive duo. Alex Hale’s 86*(47) won him the man of the match award, whereas, skipper Jos Buttler hit the winning 6 of the game, scoring 80*(49) to chase the total in 16 overs and bringing his team 1 step closer to their 2nd title win.

In the 1st innings, India didn’t start off well, with the quick wickets of KL Rahul , Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, and slow strike rate, India were 75/3 at the end of 11 overs, but in form Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya stood up once against the furious english bowling line up, adding a total of 93 runs in the last 9 overs. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya’s magnificent knocks of 50(40) & 63(33) went in vain as England finished the match with 4 overs to spare.
