ISL 2021-22: Hyderabad FC crush NorthEast United

Goa: Hyderabad FC stormed through to second on the points table after a stunning 5-1 victory over NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League(ISL) at the GMC Athletic Stadium in Goa on Monday.  Chinglensana Singh opened the scoring for Nizam while Bartholomew Ogbeche stuck against one of his former clubs. youngster Aniket Jadhav added one late in the second half with Javier Siverio joining the party as well. Laldanmawia Ralte, scored a consolation for the Highlanders.

Spaniard Edu Garcia’s returned to matchday squad and quickly made his mark with a free kick in early after kick-off that sailed over the bar however another set-piece just moments went in his way. Chinglensana Singh scored his first ISL goal courtesy of the Spaniard who’s free-kick hit the upright initially and with goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury getting caught ball-watching and defenders out of position, the Manipur man slotted home from the rebound.

From a Tondonba long throw-in that resulted in a goal-mouth opportunity, VP Suhair’s effort was initially blocked but wasn’t cleared safely and Mizoram winger struck pouncing on it.

The highlander for a brief looked good after the break as substitute Lalkhawpuimawia attempted an ambitious bicycle kick and Danmawia’s header from Joe Zoherliana’s cross went over the bar. However, it was Hyderabad who were in the mood for the fun. Ogbeche turned on the after-burners to score the third as he left Santana for dead, swiveled, and blazed a shot into the net.

Youngster Aniket Jadhav joined the party from bench and got his first goal for the club late in the second half while Siverio earlier assisted one put the icing one the cake sealing a stunning victory.
