ISL 2021-22: FC Goa’s Jorge Ortiz to face suspension due to violent conduct

Goa: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee charged FC Goa forward Jorge Ortiz with ‘violent conduct’ for ‘pushing an opponent when the ball was not in play’ in Match number 26 of 2021-22 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) against Bengaluru FC at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday( December 11).

Ortiz reportedly committed an offense by violating Article 48.1.2 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code. The Committee has a given time till 15th December to submit a reply.

After being sent off by the AIFF-appointed referee during the match against BFC, now the Spaniard will serve his automatic one-match suspension in FC Goa’s next fixture against Hyderabad FC to be played on 18th December.

Elsewhere, ATK Mohun Bagan physiotherapist Luis Alfonso Redondo Martinez, who was also shown a red card in Match number 25 against Chennaiyin FC. He has also been charged with a similar kind of offence. The Committee has accused him of ‘violent conduct – pushing using excessive force.’ The AIFF body has also given him a similar deadline to issue a defence in writing for his above mentioned actions.
