Goa: FC Goa will be looking to extend their winning run when they face Hyderabad FC in the 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Saturday ( December 18). On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC will be looking to bounce back from their loss in the last game when they take on Odisha FC in Tilak Maidan Stadium on the same day.

Chennaiyin had their unbeaten record broken in the last game while facing Mumbai City. The Božidar Bandović’s men are currently fifth in the points table with eight points from five games and the win against Odisha will take them to third place. Odisha on the other hand, are placed above Chennaiyin, the fourth position.

As for the Gaurs, they snapped out a three-game losing streak after defeating SC East Bengal with a 4-3 scoreline and followed it up with a 2-1 triumph over Bengaluru FC during their last outing. Currently, in the eighth position, Juan Ferrando’s men will be aiming to keep their run of victory going.

Although the climb will be steeper for the Gaurs without Jorge Ortiz, who picked up his first red card in the Hero ISL tournament during FC Goa’s last match and will not be available for selection in the upcoming match. It was also his first-ever red card in the campaign of  ISL. Meanwhile, for Hyderabad, they will be full of confidence after their massive 5-1 win against NorthEast United FC.

Chennaiyin has been the side with the best defensive record in the league so far but they have struggled to find the back of the net. Whereas, the Kalinga Warriors have conceded 44 goals in 20 games in Hero ISL games in 20-21 season and finished with the worst defensive record in Hero ISL.
