Huelva: India was certain of two medals at the ongoing BWF World Championships 2021 in Huelva, Spain, on Friday, as ace shuttler Kidambi Srikanth and a youthful Lakshya Sen advanced to the tournament’s semi-finals, setting up what looks to be a dramatic all-Indian final four duel.
PV Sindhu’s season, however, came to an end when she was unable to retain the championship she earned in 2019, falling in the quarter-finals against Tai Tzu Ying 17-21, 13-21.
While Srikanth had an easy time beating Dutch shuttler Mark Caljouw 21-8, 21-7, Lakshya had to fight hard to beat Zhao Junpeng 21-15, 15-21, 22-20.
