ISL 2021-22: Bengaluru FC aim to begin campaign with win against North-East United

Goa: Bengaluru FC having attained a seventh finish last season, despite a fairly balanced squad will look forward to start their Indian Super League campaign on a high note with a win against NorthEast United FC who finished third behind Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan at GMC Athletic Stadium on Saturday , November 20.

With a new coach, Marco Pezzaiuoli, who has mustered his experiences growing through the ranks of U-16, U-17, U-19 German nation team , Bengaluru FC will look to attain new heights of glory. Bringing in players like Yrondu Musavu-King, Price Ibara, Alan Costa , Bruno Ramires, along with talented Indians like Sarthak Golui, Jayesh Rane and Danish Farooq Bhatt, Blues have a squad that can make the opponent manager worry .

On the other hand, being the only Indian coach to ever coack an Indian Super League team, Khalid Jamil is more than ever prepared to attain a top four finish once more. Jamil is known to extract the best out of his players and he showed that last season when he turned around their campaign after Gerard Nus’ sacking. Jamil has time and again shown his knack of sneaking out results and that puts NorthEast United in good stead.

The front pairing Mathias Coureur and Deshorn Brown is also something that can work in their favour. Last season, they had Luis Machado to weave his magic on the ground but this time around, they have got a pairing that is expected to be clinical up front and help NorthEast United work their way through . Although the absence of Apuia, Ashutosh Mehta and Dylan Fox will leave huge gaps to be filled.
