India U17 men held by Qatar in first friendly

New Delhi: The Indian U17 men’s team drew 1-1 with Qatar in the first of two closed-door friendlies on Sunday, April 25, 2026, at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Denny Singh Wangkhem opened the scoring for the Blue Colts in the 67th minute before the hosts equalised in the 82nd.

The second friendly between the two sides will be played on April 28 at 21:30 IST.

The friendlies are part of India and Qatar’s preparations for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026.

India will take on Australia (May 6), Uzbekistan (May 10) and DPR Korea (May 13) in Group D in Jeddah.
