IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad gets major boost as Pat Cummins’ Comeback Adds Strength against Rajasthan Royals clash

Jaipur: Royals (RR) will host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 36th match of the IPL season 2026 on Saturday, 25 April, at 7:30 PM, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. This is RR’s first home game in Jaipur this season after starting their home campaign in Guwahati.

Rajasthan Royals started their season brilliantly, but in the recent two matches they suffered back-to-back defeats. However, in their last match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), they made a strong comeback, climbing to 3rd position with 10 points. They possess a strong young opening duo, although their middle order has struggled with quick collapses and has not contributed consistently with significant runs. Their bowling unit also looks solid, led by Jofra Archer, who has been in excellent form. They are further supported by Ravi Bishnoi, Nandre Burger, and Ravindra Jadeja, forming a balanced and experienced attack.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad arrive with strong momentum, riding on a three-match winning streak. They have shown impressive improvement, especially in their bowling unit. In the last match against DC, Abhishek Sharma played a blistering knock, scoring an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls. SRH have played 7 matches so far this season, winning 4 and losing 3, collecting 8 points. There is also a major boost for SRH, as their captain Pat Cummins is expected to return for today’s match. Pat Cummins missed the beginning of IPL 2026 due to a lumbar bone stress injury in his back, with Ishan Kishan leading the side in his absence. Cummins has now been cleared to play after recent scans on his back showed positive results, significantly strengthening SRH’s bowling unit. In IPL history, both teams have faced each other 22 times, with Rajasthan Royals winning 13 matches, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have won 9.

The weather in Jaipur is expected to be very favorable, with clear skies and almost no chance of rain, ensuring a full match without interruptions. It will be extremely hot during the day, with temperatures touching around 40°C or more, but by match time in the evening it should drop to a more comfortable 28–33°C. Humidity may rise slightly as the night progresses, and dew is likely to form in the second innings, which could make bowling more difficult and give an advantage to the chasing side. Overall, conditions are ideal for cricket despite the daytime heat. The pitch at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is expected to be balanced, offering good bounce for batters while providing some assistance to bowlers early on. As the match progresses, batting conditions should improve, and with expected dew in the second innings, chasing teams may have a slight advantage. Overall, it will be exciting to see which team comes out on top with a positive result.
