London: The Indian cricket team will face England in July next year in six white-ball matches divided equally in T20I and ODI series. The news came after England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB) announced its international home fixtures for 2022 on Wednesday.

Virat Kohli’s side is currently playing a five-Test series against England with the last fixture is starting on September 10. Usually the limited over games get played few days after the Tests.

However, this year the Red and White ball series has been scheduled in separate seasons of the calendar due to the length of the tours in times of this ongoing pandemic situation.

“It has been a scintillating summer of cricket and so good to see crowds backpacking out venues later this summer.” Added Tom Harrison, ECB Chief Executive Officer in the release.

“For next summer, I am pleased to be able to confirm three high-quality men’s international touring teams for 2022, starting with a three-Test LV= Insurance Series against World Test champions New Zealand.”

“We also look forward to India returning for two white-ball series before we host South Africa for what promises to be hard-fought series across three formats, including three Test Matches,” Tom further stated.
