Kolkata : 5 times champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are ready to roll arms in auction and revamp their team, after it failed closely to qualify for IPL 2024 playoffs.
Legendary former CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who’s in the last phase of his career will roll the gloves behind the wickets this season.
However, in mega auction 2025 , the men in yellow will target some young Indian wicket keepers who’ll be future replacement of Dhoni.

(1) Rishabh Pant :
Pant will be a primary choice for CSK as future replacement of Dhoni behind the stumps, and this drew huge rumours of him featuring in yellow jersey. Not only does Pant have good keeping & power hitting abilities but also experienced captain. Delhi Capitals released him surprisingly ahead of IPL 2025 auctions and can be a huge buy for CSK both behind the stumps and in Batting lineup. Additionally he can be good leader too. In IPL he has scored 3284 runs in 111 Matches with 148.93 Strike Rate.
(2) Ishan Kishan :
Ishan Kishan, the former Mumbai Indians prolific, aggressive top order Batter and flamboyant wicket keeper who can play ruthless shorts and is sharp with gloves. Ahead of auction, Mumbai Indians released him and he’ll go under hammer. Apart from these, he has good leadership qualities and experiences of leading in domestic Cricket and India U19. CSK , if bag him, can get a great top order Batter, keeper and future leader. In 105 IPL matches, he has scored 2644 runs with strike rate of 135.87.
(3) KL Rahul :
Solid with Bat, safe with gloves in his prime and calm, composed as leader, just like MS Dhoni, Rahul can be a big aspect if he joins the men in yellow. Due to lack of form last season and fall out with management, Lucknow Super Giants left him and unlikely to bid for their former skipper in IPL 2025 auction. Jitesh Sharma, former Punjab Kings keeper and famous for his aggressive middle order Batter can serve men in yellow, if selected, as ruthless middle order Batter and if groomed, will be a future leader. Punjab released him ahead of IPL 2025 auction, and CSK might eye him as aggressive middle order Batter. In 40 IPL matches, he has scored 730 runs with strike rate of 151.14.
(5) Srikar Bharat :
Sharp with gloves, gifted with abilities of anchoring and big hitting with Bat, KS Bharat didn’t get much opportunities in IPL but showcased his talent when he made short appearances for RCB and in domestic Cricket. Besides this, he also has experiences of captaining in Andhra Pradesh Premier League and India A. He was released by Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2025 auction and can be a good future leader , keeper Batter aspect , if CSK go for him. In 10 IPL matches, he has scored 199 runs with strike rate of 122.09.
