Gujarat : Shubman Gill’s 3rd IPL 100 at Ahmedabad against Mumbai Indians of the season helps his team to make a 2nd consecutive entry into IPL Final.
Winning the toss, the 5 times IPL winning skipper Rohit Sharma opted to field first. Despite taking the early wicket of Wriddhiman Saha, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan started to build a partnership and all of a sudden Gill began to accelerate, with Sai anchoring from the other end. Gill targeted bowlers like Chris Jordan, Piyush Chawla, Akash Madhwal all over the park and bringing up his 100. After his departure , scoring 129 (60) , skipper Hadik Pandya rubbed salt to Mumbai’s wounds, scoring a quick fire 28*(13), and Sudarshan’s matured innings of 43*(31), took Gujarat Titans to a massive score of 233 at the end of 20 overs.

Chasing the total Mumbai lost 2 quick wickets of Nehal Wadhera and skipper Rohit Sharma but in form Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma started counter attacks, scoring almost with a run rate of 12 per over. With Tilak dismissed off Rashid Khan scoring 43(14), Surya continued to hold his nerves but soon with the introduction of Mohit Sharma things changed within 2 overs as the veteran took 5 wickets within 2 overs, rapping up the innings of Mumbai Indians for 171 runs.
