Mumbai: Delhi Capital’s fast bowler Chetan Sakariya performed an unusual celebration.fter dismissing Aaron Finch in the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
Finch’s stumps were destroyed while attempting to play a cross-batted shot on the on-side. Following that, he had a celebration akin to that of the Dragon Ball Z cartoon character Goku.
“It was an emotional celebration and it was for my father. He always wished for me to dismiss an international batter bowled,” Sakariya said to Kuldeep in a video uploaded on IPL’s official Instagram page.
Sakariya explained why he was celebrating after DC’s four-wicket victory over the Men in Gold and Purple. Kuldeep Yadav, who was named Player of the Match for his four-wicket haul, was informed of the revelations by the Young Turk.
Mr. Kanjibhai Sakariya, Sakariya’s father, died in May 2021 at the age of 42 after testing positive for COVID-19. Sakariya debuted in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) after being purchased for INR 1.2 crore. Sakariya donated a portion of his IPL earnings to his father’s treatment when the last edition of the T20 league was delayed due to coronavirus-related difficulties.
Sakariya was sold to the Capitals for INR 4.20 crores after being released by the Royals. Sakariya, who was born in Bhavnagar, made his IPL 2022 debut on Thursday and finished with outstanding bowling stats of 3-0-17-1.
