Glenn Maxwell's fifty power RCB to seven wicket win over Rajasthan

Dubai: Glenn Maxwell shines through as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)  defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets, and register their seventh victory of the season at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

In the chase of 150 runs Bangalore were off to a flying start as Virat Kohli (25) slammed Chris Morris for three boundaries in the opening over. Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal (22) added 48 runs for the first wicket.

Eventually KS Bharat and Glenn Maxwell continued the momentum, added 69 runs together for the third wicket. Maxwell remained not out and slammed an unbeaten half century in just 30 balls to help RCB extend their winning runs.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals ended their innings at 149/9 after 20 overs. At first they were looking in a great touch after their openers gave a 78-run stand but RCB bowlers brought their team back in the game with consecutive wickets in the middle overs. As RR suffered a middle-order collapse after openers Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal, losing 8 for 49 in the last nine overs.

Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowlers for RCB, finishing with figures of three for 34. Patel dismissed Riyan Parag, Chris Morris, and Chetan Sakariya in the final over. Not to forget Yuzvendra Chahal, who gave away 18 runs in his four overs and took two crucial wickets. While Shahbaz Ahmed also got two wickets.

With this win RCB now have 14 points in their hand and still at the third spot in the points table whereas RR are at the seventh spot with 8 points.
