Kolkata : Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured their 6th of IPL 2024 at Eden Gardens, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 7 wickets.

Chasing below par 154 runs, Phillip Salt went on a rampage, scoring a quick fire 68 (33), after being dropped by Lizaad Williams in 2nd over. This knock almost took the game away from Delhi Capitals after the powerplays itself.

Despite Sunil Narine (15), Rinku Singh (11) getting dismissed quickly, Shreyas (33) & Venkatesh Iyer (26) finished the Match in 17th over with a partnership of 57 runs.

This was KKR’s 6th win of the tournament and they are this placed at 2nd in the points table.

In 1st innings, KKR bowling 1st , DC line up never looked settled. They lost their main Batters at regular intervals and cheaply.

Varun Chakaravarthy’s 3-fer tied the DC batters, and forbade them to score runs.

Kuldeep Yadav (35*) was DC’s highest scorer, that reached to a below par 153 runs, facing defeat. Varun was adjourned the man of the match for his performance.

They’re now placed at 6th in points table with 5 wins out of 11 Matches.

KKR will next face Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium on 3rd May while DC will face Rajasthan Royals at home on 7th May.
