Had it not been for Kane Williamson who smashed 10-ball 26, the score wouldn’t have gone that far. The diminutive Kiwi superstar took the charge right from the word go targetting Shardul Thakur hitting him for 20 in the 19th over to take the score to 171/3 in 20 overs.

Lungi Ngidi (2/35) alongside Sam Curran (1/30) shared the wickets but Deepak Chahar bowled the best spell among all of them giving away just 21 in his three overs despite going wicketless.

Chennai though, chasing 172 pretty much sealed the deal through their openers. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis combined well hammering 129 runs in just 13 overs for the first wicket. While young Gaikwad showcased his potential with his 42 ball 75, the ever reliable du Plessis was the again the anchor man with 38 ball 56.

Both of them fell in quick succession, Chennai already were in the driving seat.Cameos from Moeen Ali (17) and Suresh Raina (17) brought the victory to CSK. Although for Sunrisers, Rashid Khan (3/36) took all the wickets but it wasnt enough for them.
