Barbados : Indian Cricket team led by Rohit Sharma clinched their 2nd T20 Wc title on 29 June.

However, their signs of worries increased despite this historic feat due to peril of hurricane “Beryl” looming around.

The latest pictures arriving from Barbados are not that of the Indian team’s T20 World Cup victory celebrations, but of hurricane Beryl that has hit the Caribbean city, leading to a shut down of the airport and resultant delay in return home of the new T20 world champions.

An ANI video on social media platform ‘X’ shows downpour in the city accompanied by strong wind leading to cancellation of flights and a complete shut-down in the city.

“Hurricane hits Barbados, airport shut down until further order. Curfew imposed in the city from 6 pm, all stores and offices shut down. Team India and media from India stuck in Barbados as all flights cancelled,” reads the caption along with the social media post.

Currently, the Men in Blue are staying at the Hilton Hotel and Hurricane Beryl will pass by Barbados on Sunday night local time for which the airport has been closed. Curfew has been imposed in the city due to the hurricane.

Speaking to the reporters, the Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Jay Shah said that they are ‘stuck’ in Barbados and will think about the felicitation once the travel plans are clear.

“Like you we are also stuck here. After the travel plans are clear, we will think about the felicitation,” Shah said.
